At The Intentional Group, we are driven by a story of compassion, education, and purpose. Our founder, Shelia Dickerson, launched our CNA Training Program in 2018, blending her deep passion for education with her personal connection to healthcare.

Shelia’s journey into healthcare began in 2015, when her brother suffered a spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. During this challenging time, Shelia was exposed to the world of healthcare facilities, where she witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of compassionate, dedicated care—especially from certified nursing assistants. She saw how proper care could drastically improve her brother’s quality of life and knew that this was something she wanted to be a part of.

Prior to founding The Intentional Group, Shelia had dedicated herself to helping high school students pursue higher education as an educator and counselor. Education had always been close to her heart, and when the opportunity arose to merge this passion with her newfound appreciation for healthcare, she knew she had found her calling.

Through The Intentional Group, Shelia combined her expertise in education with a purpose to give back to her community. Our CNA Training Program is designed to benefit Sacramento’s growing elderly community and medical dependents by training skilled, compassionate CNAs who can make a real difference. We also provide valuable opportunities for employment, contributing to the overall growth of Sacramento’s workforce.

At The Intentional Group, we believe in the power of purpose-driven work. We are more than just a training program—we are a community dedicated to making meaningful changes in the lives of both caregivers and those they care for.
